REVELATION 11:15

"THE RETURN OF THE KING"

I. PALM SUNDAY CELEBRATES THE FIRST COMING OF THE KING.
        A. As Zech. prophesied, "He was lowly."
        B. On the very day Daniel predicted. (Daniel 9..
        C. If His birth in a stable seemed out of place so also His triumphant entry.
                1. No heads of state, lust peasants to greet Him.
                2. No elaborate chariot to ride on.
                3. Despised and rejected, we see Him weep; not for Himself, but for the people.

Il. THE KING IS COMING AGAIN.
        A. Not on a donkey in meekness and lowliness.
                1. On a white horse with power and glory.
        B. Not with a few disciples waving palm branches.
                1. With 10 thousands of His saints.
        C. Not to be crowned with thorns for a moment.
                1. Royal diadem for ever.
        D. Not to die in shame on a cross.
                1. To reign forever in glory.
        E. Even as His first coming foretold in prophesy so also His second.
                1. Isaiah 9:6, "And the government shall be..."

Ill. "THE KINGDOM OF THIS WORLD IS BECOME THE KINGDOM OF OUR LORD AND OF HIS CHRIST."
        A. This present world ruled by Satan the prince of darkness.
                1. Jesus called him the prince of this world.
                2. His rule is marked by greed.
                3. The emphasis is to gratify ones fleshly desires.
                        a. Thus, he would reduce man who was made in the image of God to an
                           animal.
                4. As we look at the world, we see the nightmarish effects of his reign.
        B. How we long for the day when this world becomes the Kingdom of our Lord and of His
           Christ.
                1. When He overthrows the kingdom of darkness.
                2. When earth restored (deserts blossom..
                3. When animal kingdom restored.
                4. When man is restored.
                        a. Physically.
                        b. Spiritually.
        C. Today marks a day of infamy and shame in the history of man.
                1. Missed opportunity.
                2. Had they only crowned Him king how differently would our history of western
                   civilization been written.
                3. Think of the tragedy, chaos and heartbreak; their failure, their rejection
                   has cost.
                4. What about you? There were always two crowds, those who cried Hosanna and
                   those who cried crucify.
