II PETER 3: 3 - 14

I. ATOMIC REACTION.
        A. Nucleus of atom bombarded with slow moving neutrons.
                1. Structure disturbed and changed.
        B. Properties of atomic fission.
                1. Produces tremendous heat and energy.
                        a. Desert turned to glass for 800 yards.
                2. A deafening explosion.
                        a. 1 stick of dynamite.
                        b. uranium size of dime = 22,000 tons of dynamite.
                3. Elements dissolve and change properties completely.
                        a. Steel tower 200 ft. high dissolved into gasses.

II. "THE THINGS THAT ARE SEEN ARE TEMPORAL."
        A. Look about you to these things that seem so important.
                1. Your home.
                2. Your car.
                3. Your business.
                4. Your neighborhood.
                5. Your shopping centers.
                6. All of your possessions.
        B. "Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved."
                1. These things that have absorbed your time.
                2. These things on which you've spent your salaries.
                3. These things that you have called necessities.
                        These things shall all be dissolved!
        C. What then is to remain?
                1. The things that are not seen.

III. WHAT MANNER OUGHT WE TO BE?
        A. Certainly not to devote ourselves completely to material things to neglect of
           spiritual. But better to devote ourselves to spiritual to the neglect of material.
        B. Holy conversation.
        C. Godliness.
        D. Looking for and hastening coming day of God.
