I PETER 2: 21 - 25

I. PURPOSE OF OUR CALLING
        A. "That we might follow in His steps."
                1. Christ life was example for us.
                        a. If you would know what God desires of you look at the life of 
                           Christ.
                2. The closer you are the easier it is to follow.
                3. Comforting to follow in foot steps. You know he has made the way.
                        a. He does not ask that we should blaze the trail. Just follow His 
                           footsteps.
                4. "Conformed to image of His dear son."
                        a. Spirit continues to knock off rough edges.

II. THE PATH CHRIST LED
        A. Did no sin.
                1. Christ hated and abhorred sin. We have become too tolerant.
        B. No guile found in His mouth.
                1. Guile means deceit or treachery.
        C. When reviled, reviled not again.
                1. (How satisfying to get last word. A sharp retort to insult.
        D. When He suffered, He threatened not.
                1. "I'll get even."
        E. Committed Himself to God.

Ill. THE NATURE OR DISPOSITION OF CHRIST.
        A. Love - 1st to God  2nd to fellowman including enemies.
                Joy.
                Peace.
                Long suffering.
                Gentle.
                Good.
                Faithful.
                Meek.
                Temperate.
