HEBREWS 12: 25 - 28

"THE UNSHAKEABLES"

Intro: Few things are more awesome than an earthquake. When the "Terra firma" is
       not so "firma" it gets rather terrifying. Sylmar and freeway destruction.

I. THE GREAT SHAKING YET TO COME. 'YET ONCE MORE.'
        A. Many prophesies concerning a final great earthquake.
                1. Rev. speaks of Mts and Islands being moved and heaven
                   departing as a scroll.
                2. Isa. 24:19 talks of the earth reeling to and fro like a drunkard and
                   being moved.
                3. Scientist talking about San Andres fault only local situation.
                4. Physicists talk 9f polar axis flip.
        B. Many times God begins to shake our personal little worlds.
                1. We begin to take things for granted.
                2. We grow careless in the important things.
                        a. We begin to spend our money for that..." and our labor for
                           that which satisfieth..."

II. WHO IS DOING THE SHAKING? "I WILL SHAKE."
        A. God's hand is behind the shaking.
                1. God's method is often that of tearing down before He builds again.
                        a. To Jeremiah "Root out, pull down, destroy, to throw down, to
                           build to plant."
                2. Many times we have build on wrong foundations.
                        a. Such a building is dangerous.
        B. Does it seem that God is shaking your life today?
                1. All you were seeking to build sort of crumbled around you?
                2. On what type of foundation were you seeking to build.

a. Materialistic?
b. Selfish?

Ill. THE PURPOSE OF THE SHAKING.
        A. "The removing of those things that are shaken."
                1. God desires to teach us true values.
                        a. Our sense of values so often twisted.
                        b. We pity the Indians who traded gold and silver for glass
                           beads. Yet we often are guilty of trading the priceless
                           treasures for a moments pleasure.
                2. God shakes our world to show us the true and real values.
                        a. They are deeper than the material.
                        b. We look not on the things which are seen, but the things
                           which are not. Why?
                3. "By faith Moses..."
        B. "That the unshakeables might remain."
                1. God desires to build His eternal Kingdom on the earth.
                        a. Based on righteousness and love.
                        b. Necessary to shake down the governments man has built
                           based on power and greed.
                                1. We see governments being shaken today.
                                2. We see a shaky economy.
                                3. Our educational systems being shaken built on rotten
                                   planks.
                        c. God is preparing to remove the effete.
                2. Now abide these three, faith, hope, love.
                        a. What man will still be standing when all else have fallen?
                           The man of faith.
                3. The purpose of God's shaking is never utter destruction, but
                   permanent building.

He wants to establish His Kingdom that can never be moved.
Haggai says "Then shall the desire of the nations be come" The King is coming; The King has
already come, and now reigns in my heart.
