Book: Titus Print ( PC Only ) TITUS 2: 11-14 "THE BLESSED HOPE" I. THE GRACE OF GOD TEACHES US HOW TO LIVE. A. So many today lust trying to survive. 1. Not really living as God intended. 2. The advertising media off times associates living with drinking, or boozing. a. Tragic that some can't live without it. B. The first thing it teaches on how to live is soberly. 1. Though all things are lawful to me, I will not be brought under the power of any. a. Keep your mind clear. b. How sad to see someone whose mind is under the influence of: 1. Alcohol. 2. Drugs. 3. Some spiritual leader. c. I want my mind to be influenced by the Holy Spirit, nothing else. 2. Next we are to live righteously. a. Simply means we are to do the right thing. 1. We are often tempted to do the wrong thing. 3. Live godly in this present world. a. Have a right relationship with God. b. Always remember this present world was never intended as a permanent dwelling place. 1. We're lust passing through. Il. "LOOKING FOR THAT BLESSED HOPE." A. Very little hope in this world today. 1. Liberal politicians as liberal theologians offer only empty platitudes and lies. a. Noticing their total ineptness to handle any problem so far, leaves little ground for hope. 2. We see the monetary chaos and it leaves us uncertain as to the future. 3. Many were hoping for Jimmy Jones to lead them to a better world but he lead them to... a. What a sad indictment of our times when he offered the only hope to some people. B. What is the blessed hope? 1. Jesus is coming again! "The glorious appearing of our great God and our Savior Jesus Christ." 2. He will establish God's kingdom on the earth. a. "Thy kingdom come." b. Justice, righteousness, truth, peace, joy, love. C. I see no hope in: 1. The political system. 2. The monetary chaos. 3. The epidemic crime rate. 4. The moral breakdown. 5. The judicial system. D. There is only one hope remaining for this poor sick world. 1. The darker the present outlook gets the brighter the hope appears. E. Not all will get to share in His kingdom. 1. Just those who are willing to acknowledge Him as king. |
