LUKE 8:1

"GLAD TIDINGS"

I. THE KINGDOM OF GOD.
        A. The kingdom where God reigns.
                1. At the present time, whole universe except earth.
                        a. Man is in rebellion against God.
                        b. God the King has spoken and given us the terms of living in His
                           Kingdom.
                                1. Satan has challenged God's Word. Did God really say that?
                                   "Hath God said?"
                                2. Is the Bible a reliable authority, or as Dr. Gundry
suggests, did Matthew deliberately alter the Words of
Jesus to make himself look better? And did he embellish
                                   the story?
                                3. Paul said, "All scripture given by inspiration of God."
                                4. Peter said, "Holy men of God spoke as they were moved by
                                   the Holy Ghost."
                2. There is a second kingdom where Satan reigns.
                        a. Paul calls Satan, "The god of this world."
                        b. Jesus called him "The prince of this world."
                        c. The kingdoms have diametrically opposed philosophies.
                                1. God says the spiritual world is supreme.
                                2. Satan says the fleshly, material world is supreme.
                                3. God says if a man lives after flesh, the end result is war,
strife, stealing, raping, assaulting, misery, death.
                        d. Your lifestyle displays in which kingdom you live.

II. "JESUS PREACHED AND SHEWED..."
        A. His message was to all men.
                1. That society divided into many segments.
                        a. Rich - slaves.
                        b. Women - second class citizens.
                        c. Sinners - pompous robed Pharisees.
                2. God's Kingdom is open to all but is uniclass.
        B. He showed the Kingdom.
                1. By the miracles.
                        a. Sufficient food for all to be filled.
                        b. The blind will see.
                        c. The lame will walk.
                        d. The deaf shall hear.
                2. By His obedience to the Father.
                        a. Never worried - the Father sees.
                        b. Never feared - the Father knows.

III. THE GLAD TIDINGS.
        A. To a dark world, the light came.
                1. From despair to hope.
                2. From greed to giving.
                3. From hate to love.
                4. From death to life.
