"MORE ABUNDANT LIFE"

Intro: Jesus the Good Shepherd watching over His flock. Not lust shepherd but door by  which
       one must enter.

I. ALL OTHER RELIGIOUS SYSTEMS AS THIEF.
        A. They steal.
                1. The work of God in your life.
                        a. They would put you to work trying to be good enough to please God.
                        b. Emphasize your work rather than God's finished work
                        c. Have you reaching out for God, when He is really reaching out for
                           you.
                2. The power of God from your life.
                        a. Satan the originator of do-it-yourself.
        B. To kill.
                1. The chief concern is not to enrich you, but to be enriched by you.
                2. In contrast to life that Jesus gives.
                        a. Satan's kingdom one of death and darkness.
                        b. Those within it abide in death.
                                1. Like corpse, eyes but can't see.
        C. To destroy.
                1. We see the destruction of humanity today.
                        a. The wrecks of nations as well as individuals lives.
                        b. They have sought to find another way than the door.
                2. They followed the promise of liberation into slavery.
                        a. Exercising their freedom to drink, destroyed by alcoholism.

II. JESUS SAID, "I AM COME THAT THEY MIGHT HAVE LIFE, AND THAT THEY MIGHT HAVE IT MORE
    ABUNDANTLY."
        A. Marks of the life in Christ.
                1. Love, for God, for one another.
                        a. Loving God is life.
                                1. No longer terrified.
                        b. Having Him love me is more abundantly.
                2. Joy.
                        a. Jesus spoke of the fullness of joy.
                        b. Joy unspeakable and full of glory.
                3. Peace.
                        a. Peace with God -- that's life.
                        b. Peace with God -- more abundantly.
                        c. Peace that passes human understanding.
                4. Freedom.
        B. The source of the new life.
                1. It comes from Him.
                2. It continues in Him. Author and finisher
                3. It ends in Him.
                4. He that hath begun a good work in you.
                5. The Good Shepherd has laid down His life for the sheep.
                        a. That through death, He might destroy him that had power.
                        b. "And though He was rich . . . "
