MATTHEW 12:31.32

"THE UNPARDONABLE SIN"

Intro: Jesus warns that it is possible for a person to commit a sin for which there is no
       forgiveness. I as His representative would be derelict to my duty if I did not seek
       to tell you what this sin is.

I. WHAT THE UNPARDONABLE SIN IS NOT.
        A. "All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven."
        B. It is not a single action you can do in a moment.
        C. It is not a single action of.
                1. Lying - Abraham lied about Sarah.
                2. Adultery - David.
                3. Murder - Thief on cross.
                4. Cursing - Peter.

II. TESTIMONY OF SCRIPTURE.
        A. Genesis 6:3 . "My Spirit will not always strive..."
                1. Blessing and a curse.
                        a. Blessing that He does strive with men.
                        b. Curse that a time can come when He ceases.
                                "There is a time we know not..."
                2. To each person one day God makes His final appeal.
                        a. To reject is fatal.
                        b. There remains nothing but that certain looking forward to that
                           fiery indignation.
                        c. The generation of Noah's day.
                                1. God made His appeal.
                                2. He held out His arms till the door closed.
                        d. God said to Hosea, "Ephraim is joined to idols let him alone."
                        e. God told Jeremiah not to pray anymore.
                        f. God speaks in Romans 1 of giving up.
        B. John 12:39, "Therefore they could not believe."
                1. Not would not. They came to a place where they could not.
                        a. It is possible to pattern our brains.
                        b. Repeated actions create grooves.
                                1. Watch a person who knits well.
                                2. Musicians.
                        c. The first time you said no to Jesus Christ you began a  program in
                           your brain.

III. WHAT IS THE BLASPHEMY AGAINST THE HOLY SPIRIT?
        A. Mark's gospel tells us that Jesus gave this warning because they attributed His
           works to the devil.
                1. Many say attributing the work of Holy Spirit to Satan.
                2. This is a sign that you are getting close to committing the sin.
        B. What is the ministry or witness of Spirit?
                1. Jesus said, "He will testify of Me..." He will reprove of sin, 
                   righteousness and judgment.
                2. "Of sin, because they will not believe in Me."
                        a. All manner of sin and blasphemy shall...
                        b. There is only one sin which the blood of Jesus Christ does not
                           atone for.
                        c. There is only one sin for which man will be judged.
                        d. There is only one sin that will banish you forever from God.
                        e. The rejection of God's forgiveness by refusing Jesus Christ as
                           Savior and Lord.
                3. Jesus in John 3 said, "For God so loved..."

IV. SOME ARE FAR DOWN THE ROAD TOWARD COMMITTING THAT SIN.
        A. Significant that  9/10ths of decisions made in teen years.
