PROVERBS 4:23

"THE ISSUES OF LIFE"

I. THE HEART IS CONSIDERED THE DEEPEST AREA OF A MAN'S BEING.
        A. It is the throne room of the spirit as the mind is the throne
           room of the soul.
                1. I may believe something in my mind and never respond.
                2. If I believe in my heart then my actions will correspond
                   with my belief.
        B. The heart is like a reservoir from which our lives flow.
                1. My mouth, my hands and feet are the pipes through which
                   my life flows to others.
                2. If the reservoir is polluted that which flows out from me
                   shall be polluted.
                3. Here is a man from whom pollution flows.
                        a. "It's a matter of environment, we must change his
                           environment."
                                1. Change all of the popes.
                        b. "It's a matter of education."
                                1. Get a new man to operate gate value.
                        c. "It's a matter of motivation."
                                1. Get new pumps.
                        d. You need to clean up the reservoir.

II. HOW SHALL WE KEEP OUR HEARTS?
        A. Keep your heart full.
                1. Some people's lives are always empty and dry.
                        a. They never have anything to offer.
                        b. There life is just blah.
                2. "How can I?"
                        a. Open your hearts to the Spirit of God.
                                1. "He who drinketh of the water..."
                                2. "My cup runneth over."
                                3. "All my springs are in Thee."
        B. Keep your heart pure.
                1. There are some whose lives are full of corruption.
                        a. Like a man smoking a cigar, wherever they go
                           they leave a bad smell.
                        b. Pollution always flowing from their mouth.
                2. It seems that there are so many polluting forces around
us today; how can I be pure?
                        a. Waters of Marah.
                        b. Another tree the cross.
                3. The eyes and the ears are the gates that feed into my
mind which is the filter into my heart.
                        a. "What so ever a man soweth."
                        b. If you are constantly being filled with
                           corruption, corruption will flow out.
                        c. Sow to the Spirit.
                        d. Read the Word, hear the Word.
Get food records, censor you TV watching.
        C. Keep your heart peaceful.
                1. It seems as though a storm is constantly brewing within
                   some people.
                        a. Like a hyperkenetic child, though he may be
sitting at the moment he is not resting.
                        b. Life seems a constant turmoil.
                2. "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace..."
        D. Keep your heart tender.
                1. Many things that happen can callous our hearts.
                        a. People will lie.
                        b. Break their promises.
                        c. "He that lendeth to the poor."
        E. Keep your heart loving.
                1. Guard against bitterness.
                2. Let love flow from your life.

III. KEEPING MY HEART IS A BIGGER JOB THAN I CAN HANDLE.
        A. Turn my heart over to Jesus Christ.
                1. Let Him keep it for me.
