PROVERBS 1:7;  9:10

Discourse on wisdom Chap. 1-9. How many wish they might begin again. Reality no beginning.
How to begin.

I. VS. 7. "FEAR OF THE LORD BEGINNING OF KNOWLEDGE."
        A. Heb. word beginning here. Prime or first.
                1. All true knowledge begins with the fear of the Lord.
        B. What is meant by fear of the Lord?
                1. Many neurotic fears: Recognition of His might and holiness.
                2. Reverence and Awe.
                3. Objectively - submission.
        C. How is fear obtained?
                1. Proper concept of God.
                        a. Creator -  preserver - Redeemer
        D. Image standing in His presence.
                1. Appointment with Pres. Johnson.
                2. How much more God.
        E. Fear to displease Him.
        F. Fear to disobey Him.

II. 9:10 "THE FEAR OF THE LORD THE BEGINNING OF WISDOM."
        A. Different Heb. word begin - commencement sum total.
        B. The fear of the Lord not only beginning but the sum total of wisdom and knowledge.
