PSALM 73

"GOD IS SO GOOD"

I "TRULY GOD IS GOOD."
        A. This is the basic essential fact concerning God.
                1. We need to always remember this.
                2. We need to fix this thought in our heart.
                        a. For satan is always challenging this fact.
                                1. In the garden of Eden.
                                2. If God is so good why wars, crime...?
                        b. The circumstances of our lives may indicate otherwise.
                                1. Why do I suffer so much?
                                2. Why am I in this situation?
                                3. How come the guy down the street who lies, curses God,
steals, deals in dope has so much, and I'm always broke.
        B. God is Good, this is a foundation fact upon which faith is built.
                1. There will always be confusing situations which we can't understand.
                2. Fall back on what you do understand, God is good.

II. A NEAR DISASTER VS. 2
        A. The reason for the near disaster.
                1. He got his eyes off of God and began to look at people and situations.
                2. He became envious of sinners when he saw the prosperity of the wicked.
                        a. They didn't seem to have painful deaths.
                        b. They're not troubled as other men.
                        c. These are not true statements, but when satan is building his
case in your head he isn't concerned with truth.
                3. He next describes the wicked.
                        a. Proud, violent, fat, glutted, corrupt, filthy mouthed,
                           braggarts, blasphemous.
                        b. People play up to them; envy them.
                        c. They say, "How does God know? They stand there and challenge
                           God yet their riches increase."
        B. The conclusions that caused the near disaster.
                1. "I have cleansed my heart in vain."
                        a. It doesn't pay to be a Christian.
                        b. 1 have so much trouble I should just give up.
        C. When I thought to know this it was too painful.
                1. My mind playing too many games.
        D. How did he get to this painful place?
                1. He got his eyes off of God on to circumstances.
                2. So many times we blame God for our circumstances which are our
                   own fault.
                        a. We weren't seeking His guidance and made some stupid move, then
we want to blame Him for the consequence.

Ill. THE ANSWER FOR THE DILEMMA "UNTIL I WENT INTO THE SANCTUARY OF GOD."
        A. How many enter the doors of our sanctuary beat down by Satan,
           discouraged, defeated.
                1. Then the Spirit begins to minister to us.
                2. It seems like the message was designed tor us.
        B. "Then I understood."
                1. How many times the spirit gives us understanding.
                2. I understood their end.
                        a. They walk an icy plank over destruction.
                        b. In a moment they are wiped out.
                3. How foolish & ignorant were my thoughts, my envy.
        C. God is continually with me, He holds me by my right hand, He guides me with
His counsel and is leading me to His eternal glory.
