PSALM 71:3

"GOD OUR RESORT"

Intro: David's experience in Adullam   David's desire to be on intimate terms not only
       with but in God. Not only to dwell in the house of the Lord forever but wanted
       Lord to be the house. Not lust live within God's world, but in God.

I. GOD WAS TO DAVID A DELIGHTFUL REPOSE "BE THOU MY STRONG HABITATION" BE MY HOUSE AND HOME.
        A. What condescension on God's part.
                1. The glory of heaven - angel's worship.
        B. Man's own house he finds love.
        C. A place of rest.
        D. Joyful freedom.
        E. Intimate knowledge.
                1. Knew the Lord as he did the caves.
        F. Home a place of tender care. "Take me home"

II. IN GOD PEACEFUL SECURITY "BE THOU MY STRONG HABITATION "MY ROCK OF  HABITATION."
        A. Enter into Lord we are safe.
                1. As Strong as the rock that enfolds us.
                        a. Blow winds - not slightest movement.
                2. Great safety from enemies.
                        a. David watching Saul's men Eagle.
                           "No weapon formed against thee shall prosper and every tongue
                           that riseth against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn."
                3. He who keeps thee neither slumbers or sleeps.

III. A PLACE OF CONTINUAL RESORT "WHEREUNTO I MAY CONTINUALLY RESORT."
        A. There is joy here.
                1. You may come anytime -all the time.
        B. There is great comfort.
        C. There is great strength.

"They that wait..."

Parable: Young man traded, and sold and prospered.
                No man has ever resorted to God in excess.
