II CHRONICLES 36:15-17

"NO REMEDY"

Intro: "We have now arrived at the end of the glory of the nations of
        Judah."

I. LESSONS TO BE LEARNED FROM HISTORY.
        A. "And as long as he sought the LORD, He made His ways to
            prosper."
                1. Spiritual laws govern this Universe as well as
                   natural laws.
                2. "Seek first the Kingdom of God & His..."
                3. We see this law illustrated and proved all through
                   the History of Israel.
                        a. At the time of the Judges.
                        b. On through the kings.
                4. They had gone from a Theocracy to a monarchy, to
                   captivity.
                        a. In their birth as one nation under God
they were endowed with a sense of destiny.
                                1. God had intended that they should
be a light to the world.
                                2. I believe our nation was also raised
up by God to be a light to the world.
        B. "If you forsake God, He will forsake you."
                1. This should not be difficult to understand.
                2. "God forsaken place."
                        a. Horrible desolation and terror.
                3. God forsakes people.

II. GOD'S COMPASSION FOR THEM.
        A. Demonstrated in His efforts to turn them back from evil to Him.
                1. Evil always corrupts and destroys.
                2. The corrupting force of evil in our society today.
        B. Demonstrated in His great patience.
                1. He did not immediately destroy.
                2. He gave them several opportunities to turn back to Him.
                3. He sent all kinds of warnings.
                4. But they despised the Word of God.
                5. They mocked His prophets.
                6. They loved the soothing words of the false prophets.

III. NO REMEDY.
        A. All of God's remedial efforts had failed.
                1. The people had turned against Him more and more.
                2. With great reluctance He releases them to their own
                   destruction's.
                3. We speak of God sending judgments in a sense this is
                   true.
                        a. All He has to do is remove His hand of
                           protection and judgment ensues.
                        b. Just let man go his own path.
                        c. God protects us from judgment.
                        d. When He no longer protects judgment comes.
                        e. God has been protecting our nation, How long
will He allow our representative leaders to
enact laws that defy His laws?
        B. What a hopeless state when Dr. declares "No remedy."
                1. The patient must die. No cure.
                2. How much more so when God declares "No remedy."
                        a. For a nation.
                        b. For an individual.
